Rogaine is an effective medicine that is prescribed for baldness.
Drug usage
Rogaine helps in the growth of hairs. It is not known how the drug works on baldness. It has been believed that the drug acts on the blood vessels in the scalp, which helps in the improvement of hair follicles.
How taken
The drug should only be applied as per your doctor's direction. Rogaine should be applied on the scalp only after drying the hair completely. The normal recommended dosage is one ml and has to applied in the morning and night.
When applying Rogaine, you have to be careful that the drug does not enter the eye, nose or mouth. In case this happens, rinse with water. Well, there is no use of applying more dosage as it will not help in the faster growth of hairs. The effect can only be seen in four months. However, you should have to discard Rogaine if you do not see any difference in four months.
Missed dose/overdose
Apply the missed dose ahead of the next regular dosage. But do not apply the missed Rogaine if it is time for your next dosage. In case you have applied more than the dosage, better contact the doctor immediately. Though the overdose symptoms are not yet known, it may include fast heart rate, low blood pressure, headache and flushing.

The drug is FDA pregnancy category C, which means it will not cause any harm to the unborn babe. Even then, pregnant women should use Rogaine only after consulting the doctor. As the drug is traced in breast milk, feeding should be stopped if you are taking Rogaine.

Rogaine should not be applied if the skin is sunburned or damaged. If Rogaine is applied in such a skin, there is a possibility that the drug will be absorbed more into the body, which is can only lead to unpleasant side effects.
Rogaine can also interact with other drugs. Therefore, discuss with your doctor about all the medicines, including prescription and non-prescription drugs that you are using. Never use any topical medicines while you are on Rogaine medication.

Side effects
Rogaine comes with allergic reactions like swelling (mouth, lips, tongue), rashes and closing of the throat.
One can also experience headache, fast heartbeats, chest pain, light-headedness, dryness, redness, itching and flaking of the scalp. If you experience any of the allergic reactions or side effects, better contact the doctor without any delay.

Store Rogaine in room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep away from children.
